We can relate to man’s best friend…

Over the holiday weekend I had the TV on as background noise as I was getting ready for some 4th of July festivities. As I was curling my hair, I heard the song Trouble by Ray Lamontagne and was drawn over to the TV. Much to my delight, it was the beginning of what seemed like an adorable pet commercial with a precious terrier mix and his bone. As I continued to watch and wait for a giant Petco logo or something of the sort, I realized that there was more to it than that. There was a deeper message that was coming across. This pup was looking for the perfect spot to keep his most prized possession, where he felt it would be safe. He tried quite a few places, but none of them really seemed up to par. He is worried and can’t sleep over it. He wants to be assured that it is safe. At the end, the little Traveler’s insurance logo and voiceover came on and said, “When it comes to things you care about, leave nothing to chance.”

This was such a different and cute story angle on insurance needs and options. The spot is brilliantly directed by Danny Kleinman, executed by the pup and his beloved bone, and the music just makes it complete. They did a great job getting into the head of a home/auto/business owner and relating it to a light-hearted scenario that can’t help but make you smile. In the world of insurance, this Traveler’s pup has my vote over any Geico caveman, that’s for sure!
