Announcing redditlive

Reddit announced its new live thread allowing multiple contributors to post updates in real-time. When a contributor posts an update, anyone watching will get a live update without having to refresh. There is no limit on how many updates can be posted during the course of an event because these live threads exist outside of subreddits. You can updates these live posts with picture, video, and more can be embedded within the updates by pasting a link.  You can create your live thread by going to http://www.reddit.com/live. Source

Yelp Adds Video

Photos may be worth a thousand words, but who wouldn’t benefit from seeing a video to capture the surrounding atmosphere such as ambiance, lighting, noise level and other features of a local business? Yelp has announced that is has added video to help businesses capture the unique elements that a photo cannot capture. Yelp users and businesses can upload 3-12 second long videos to capture the essence of their favorite local businesses helping future goers anticipate the experience they will have. Source

Instagram Launches Bolt

Instagram launched Bolt in New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. Bolt is an app for users to share photos and videos via one-on-one messaging. Users sign up with their phone number, no email address required. Once signed up, users can add friends to their “favorite” list and with a single tap, shoot and send photo or video. Users can add captions and reply directly to messages received. Once you swipe away a message, it is gone permanently. Source
