Vine updates for iOS

Vine released a few small updates for iOS. Listening to its viewer’s feedback on more control over notifications, users can now customize notifications by accessing the menu in settings. All changes made to your notifications will affect push notifications and what you see in the Activity tab. Also, Vine has added a new app badge showing the number of unread activity items and unread VMs from the app icon on your devices screen.  Vine has also updated its’ sharing features, allowing users to first create a video, then decide where to share it either publicly or as a message.  Vine has also added a new navigation bar, making it easier for users to move around the app, switching from tab to tab via one tap. The navigation bar will also fade as you view vines within you home feed or from another users profile to allow maximum viewing. Lastly, Vine has introduced support for new languages—English, Hebrew, and Arabic. Source

Facebook Power Editor Adds Ad Scheduling

Power Editor now allows advertisers to schedule lifetime budgets ads for specific hours and days of the week.  Select the specific hours and days by clicking on the boxes or click and drag to schedule a series of hours. If advertisers click on “every day”, the ad will be scheduled for the same time each day of the week. Clicking on “all day” will run your ad for 24 hours straight. Advertisers can then import insights, reports and billing from the ad account’s time zone. Source

Yelp Mobile Review Translation

Yelp understands the language barriers that users come across when visiting other countries, so they have added a new feature to the Yelp iPhone app: automated review translation.  As users are discovering new recommendations from local experts, they will be able to translate those reviews into the language they understand. Yelp app uses Bing Translator to help translate foreign language reviews into 15 supported languages.  Although machine-translation does not translate perfectly into other languages, it will give users a general idea of the review. This will help local businesses have a better chance of being discovered by travelers. Source
