{"id":5505,"date":"2020-05-19T15:49:48","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T19:49:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/responseblog.wpengine.com\/?p=5505"},"modified":"2020-09-08T09:25:44","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T13:25:44","slug":"how-to-come-up-with-a-brand-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/responseblog.wpengine.com\/2020\/05\/how-to-come-up-with-a-brand-name\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s in a brand name?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To create a powerful brand name, you&#8217;ve got to understand the strategic platform the brand is built on first.\u00a0 This means a few strategic elements of the brand need to be clearly articulated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Audience.\u00a0 Who is the brand for?\u00a0 What do they want, need, and fear?<\/li>\n<li>Core Belief.\u00a0 What does the brand believe in and why?<\/li>\n<li>Vision.\u00a0 What is the vision for the brand?\u00a0 How will the brand impact the world for the better?<\/li>\n<li>Mission.\u00a0 What is the brand doing to make the vision a reality?<\/li>\n<li>Positioning.\u00a0 What is the brand&#8217;s unique promise to its customers and why should anyone believe it?<\/li>\n<li>Brand Personality\/Tone.\u00a0 What kind of personality does your brand have?\u00a0 Is it quirky, funny, serious, daring, caring&#8230; something else?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Armed with answers to these questions, the team on the naming project can be briefed and brainstorming can start.\u00a0 \u00a0Brand names typically fall into a several different categories, so you may want to break up into brainstorming teams and have each team take one of them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Descriptive.\u00a0 Names like GamerGigs, Wildlife Trading Company, AnkleAid, Sikorsky Credit Union, Instagram, Netflix<\/li>\n<li>Intuitive.\u00a0 Nexus Green, Uncle Julio&#8217;s, Cann &amp; Co., Technolutions, Logitech, Volt, Nest<\/li>\n<li>Associative. McAfee, Carrier, Nike, Okta, Twitter<\/li>\n<li>Abstract.
