It’s not breaking news that attractive people have a lot of advantages in life. Studies have proven that people tend to trust attractive people more than less attractive people. Products are marketed using attractive people when brands want to be aspirational. So it should come as no surprise that attractive people sports, especially women’s tennis are promoted more heavily than their less attractive counterparts. Trendhunter points out in this story how many of the hot-looking women end up on center court while others are relegated to the outer courts.

A spokesman for the All England Tennis Club, where Wimbledon is currently being played, was quoted as saying “It’s not a coincidence that those [on Wimbledon’s Centre Court] are attractive.”

While the spokesman goes on to explain that he means “box-office appeal” as opposed to looks, you can’t put the blame on the tournament or professional tennis for giving us what we want. For any tennis fans in the Northeast, make sure you head to the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament in August to see some world-class tennis and maybe you’ll see some hotties on center court.
