Social Media News: September 26,2014

Welcome back and Happy Friday. Here’s this weeks’  updates. Enjoy! RESPONSE_socialmedianews_092614-01 Facebook Right Column Page Admin Panel Facebook wants to make life easier for Page Admins. It has been rolling out a new feature on the right hand side column showing the breakdown of posts and ad performance.  It gives page admins shortcut links to take action on recent well performing posts, for example boosting those high performing organic posts, along with seeing general engagement metrics for the page. Source PageAdminNewsFeed Facebook Updates Custom Audience Terms Facebook updated its custom audiences to allow advertisers to target ads based on email lists, phone numbers, website visits, Facebook app user IDs and mobile app users.  Facebook has recently seen advertisers “cheat the system”  by uploading email lists of non-customers, who do not use the company’s Facebook App or have not opted into the company’s service, along with targeting user IDs of groups and pages and breaking them into new targeting groups.  Although these actions may be effective for the advertisers, it does not go along with Facebook’s Custom Audiences terms of service and will hurt the company in the long run.  In order to prevent this from re-occurring, Facebook has updated its terms of service to prevent advertisers from using these shortcuts. Now advertisers will have to specify one of many App IDs when creating custom audiences based on the Facebook user ID.  Source Custom-audience-scraping-block Check in with us next Friday for more Social Media News updates.
