And the Award Goes to…Response

Response takes home five W3 Awards

Owing to our size, location and budgetary considerations, it’s not often we get to play in the same space as the big dogs in the industry. But when we do? Our bark definitely matches our bite (not that we bite…). This was proven yet again as Response earned five W3 awards, including a Gold Winner, in this year’s competition.

About the W3 Awards

We’ve always been very selective when it comes to entering award shows, aiming for quality over quantity. The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the web, across many different platforms including social content, marketing, mobile sites/apps, online videos and more. This year, over 5,000 pieces of work from around the globe were entered by agencies and organizations large and small, including WWE, Nissan, CBS Interactive, Deloitte, DigitasLBi, Energy BBDO, McCANN, and many more.

And since it was not hosted by Steve Harvey, we’re pretty sure we won’t have to give any of them back. So without further ado, let’s get to the awards.

Uncle Julio’s – Chocolate Piñata “Fonts of Fancy” Video

Of the more than 5,000 entries, less than 10% of all entries will be selected as Gold Winners. We’re beyond proud to say that our Uncle Julio’s Chocolate Piñata “Fonts of Fancy” video took home a gold for Response. Directed by agency Creative Director Jeremy Russell, the video was conceived of by our creative team to help highlight and complement the made from scratch, beautiful nature of the Chocolate Piñata. The video was used to announce the launch of this exciting new product, which has now helped Uncle Julio’s raise sales figures in multiple markets. Effective and award-winning, that’s how we like it.

Uncle Julio’s – Chocolate Piñata Microsite

A great product and video deserve a great microsite. Chocolatepinata.com was created to give this bold, unique dessert its own special place on the web. Here, we are able to tell the story about the Chocolate Piñata, share a video about its origins, and announce any and all sweepstakes and promotions currently involving the piñata (check out and join our latest: http://chocolatepinata.com/smash). And because this product is just born for selfies and videos, the site also helps connect the Chocolate Piñata with its raving fans.

DeWALT – ToughSystem Music Microsite

Work hard, rock harder! That’s the motto of DeWALT’s ToughSystem Music, and the spirit in which we went to work to create http://toughsystemmusic.dewalt.com/. The site gives users the ability to enjoy a 360-degree view of the product, and explore the many benefits in a bold, clear way. Users can see the product in action through a branded video, and there’s even a free music download for “When the Whistle Blows”, a song written by Response favorite (and client) The Alternate Routes exclusively for the ToughSystem Music.

Intel Security – Security Terms Microsite

Keyloggers and ransomware and botnets and, wow, what happened to the good old days when all you had to worry about was a virus? When it comes to digital security, Intel’s biggest challenge is helping people understand what they’re up against without overloading them with complex information. To that end, we created the securityterms.intelsecurity.com/ microsite, which breaks down digital threats and security measures into simple, easy to understand bits of information. Each piece of content is intentionally broken down into its simplest form, and is accompanied by fun animations. The simple scrolling feature guides users throughout the site, ensuring each key piece of information is focused upon.

Avi Networks – Avi Networks Website

To say that Avi Networks lives within a complex industry is to say that Babe Ruth was pretty good at baseball. But for clients like Avi, it is our challenge to deliver a site that will appeal to and inform their customer base. With the new Avinetworks.com, we worked hard to build increased functionality and organization to help key decision makers fully understand Avi’s capabilities. It was our mission to surface these capabilities in a way that they could be located and understood quickly and easily. Our design and development team did an excellent job of distilling massive amounts of information into more digestable portions, while making it easier than ever to navigate the site.
