How To Make Fireworks Work For You

Do they have a 4th of July in England? (If you know this joke, move on to the next paragraph. If not, ponder for a bit, and then, keep reading.)

Answer: Of course England has a 4th of July.

What they don’t have however, is the fun that comes with it, like in the United States. Celebrating the independence of this great nation, every 4th of July, we enjoy a day off from work. Good food on the grill (properly executed if you read our June post). And last but not least…a whole lot of fireworks. With great power that fireworks have, comes great responsibility. So in honor of the 4th of July (America Style) and our 10-year anniversary here at Response Marketing; we’re proud to present:

The Top 10 Tips in Fireworks Safety.

  1. Don’t shoot off fireworks from any hole in your body. That’s not safe. Or proper hygiene.
  2. If you light it, and it doesn’t go off…wait an appropriate amount of time. Because just like in the movies, it will probably go off right when you’re standing over it.
  3. Choosing the fireworks with the funniest names often means the bigger bang they will have.
  4. If you’re buying your fireworks on the side of the road…they’re going to be awesome!
  5. Remember what goes up must come down. Including the tail end of fireworks.
  6. The fastest person should be the one to light the fireworks.
  7. Setting off fireworks indoors is frowned upon. How could other people enjoy them?
  8. Memorize the fireworks list from “Joe Dirt” and impress your friends about your knowledge of all things fireworks.
  9. Homemade meal. Good. Homemade fireworks. Bad.
  10. Lighting them off on any day but 4th of July is fun. But there will feel like something’s missing. And that feeling is the feeling of freedom.

In closing, it would be ill advised to not follow these tips and still expect a fun fireworks session while keeping all body parts intact.

Stay tuned next month for our August Top 10 list.
