Snapchat understands the importance of conversations and has learned that users feel better when it’s visual. Snapchat launches you directly to the camera upon upload, helping you capture the moment immediately, but Snapchat felt like something was missing from the conversation: presence. Therefore, Snapchat announced its new feature Video Chat. Video Chat allows users to know when friends are able to chat. Users can swipe right on a friend’s name which enters those users in a Snapchat inbox to start a conversation. When both users are available to chat, Snapchat will notify the user. The users can simply press and hold to share live video and chat face to face. When the users leave the chat screen, messages from both users will be cleared, but you will have the ability to tap or screenshot anything that needs to be saved such as an address or shopping list.
