Check out this week’s social media updates.
Facebook understands that users do not always have the time to explore interesting things they find on Facebook, so they have introduced a way to ‘save’ content users find for later viewing. Users can now save links, places, movies, TV shows and music. You can view these by going to the saved items in the “more” tab on mobile or by clicking the link on the left hand side of the Facebook web version. The items you save will only be seen by you unless you decide to share with friends. Saved items are organized by category and can be shared easily with friends by swiping right on each item. Facebook will also send reminders for items you have saved and not yet viewed. Source
Facebook beta testing ‘Buy’ Call-to-Action
Facebook is always looking for ways to help businesses drive sales through the News Feed and on Pages. With its newest call-to-action feature, “Buy” for ads and page posts, users can click on the buy button and purchase a product directly without leaving Facebook. Keeping privacy concerns in mind, Facebook has taken steps to make payments safe and secure, noting that none of the credit or debit card information used on Facebook will be shared with advertisers and can opt in or out of saving payment information on Facebook for further purchases.
